Assembly on Anti-Bullying: Say No! Be a Mirror!

The ‘Zero Bullying: Whole School Program’ was kick started by Grade VI students conducting the Assembly.  The Assembly entailed a special thought and prayer, which instilled courage in the children to face being bullied. This was followed by a chirpy song for the children to spread love and happiness amongst everyone instead of being a bully.

The Assembly ended with a play for the children. This play taught the children to be a mirror for the bully. Showing the bully the path he has chosen and making him reflect would get the bully to realize that his behavior is not right — when you are being bullied, you make the bully realize by simply being assertive and talking to him.

The aim of the Assembly was to bring to the attention of the staff and students alike to the unique anti-bullying program that will be taking place over the course of the next few weeks. The aim of the program is to create a bully-free zone at Oakridge by getting all the students to say NO to bullying.
