The awaited moment of grouping students based on their chosen topics
for Grade VI PYP Exhibition finally happened. Revolving around the Transdisciplinary Theme, ‘How
the World Works,’ 9 burning topics were taken up for the students to work on.
They include: Disturbing the ecosystem, Food adulteration, Natural disaster,
Water crisis, Power crisis, Man & machines, Diseases & disorders, Waste
management, and Space & exploration.
It was fun and interesting to get a new set of 24 enthusiastic
learners who are driven with a passion to work on the topic ‘Natural Disasters.’
Day one started with students writing down and sharing their big idea on the
topic. Jigsaw Puzzle (pictures of disasters) followed by a task to identify and
also to write some points/popcorn words on what they think and understand about
the picture were also carried out well. Enthusiasm and curiosity is getting the
students to a good start.
