Students of Oakridge Participate in the ‘Vote for my Future’ Walkathon

As the country’s General Elections are fast approaching, we all need to spread the message to all eligible voters to participate in these crucial elections in large numbers and elect the right leaders to the Parliament and Assembly. Let's Vote organised  a "Vote for my Future" walkathon on 19th February at 4:00 pm from Raheja Mindspace to Cyber Towers in Hitec City and back.

Shri C V Anand, Police Commissioner, Cyberabad, flagged off the walk and addressed the gathering. Shri Gautam Sawang, Additional DGP, also addressed the gathering. Both of them requested the students and the IT professionals to spread the message on the importance of voting.

Prefects of Oakridge International School Newton Campus participated in this drive to spread awareness and were accompanied by the CAS Coordinator Ms Shalini Samuel and the Co-Curricular Coordinator Ms Rubina. The organisers of Let’s Vote acknowledged in front of the gathering the contribution made by our students in spreading awareness on the importance of voting. Many students accompanied by their parents in large numbers also supported the cause by participating in the walkathon. The non-voters under the age of 18 years pledged to make their voter ID and vote on their 18 birthday and the eligible voters also pledged to take off time to cast their votes in the coming elections.
