“Comedy is the Art of Making People Laugh”

Grade 3 Students are learning about rehearsals and during their drama sessions did Rehearsals of 4 Comedy Plays “Andher Nagari”, “The Secret”, “Tikki Tikki”, “The Crazy”.  They have done their “Reading Rehearsal” and are in the process of doing “Blocking Rehearsal”.  Actors are getting their placement on stage in relation to each other. All the four plays are comedy plays which the students are enjoying thoroughly.  “Andher Nagari” is a comedy play with a message about a foolish King and his kingdom. “The Secret” is about three sisters who cannot keep secrets and a Prince who wants to marry a girl who can keep his secrets.  “Tikki Tikki” play tells us in a funny way why Chinese people prefer short names and lastly “Crazy Story”. This story is about a narrator who wants to narrate the story of Little Red Riding Hood” but all the characters from other stories comes and interrupts him and then the narrator makes up his own story. Students are enjoying their learning sessions about comic timings in drama.

Comedy is not funny. Comedy is hard work and timing and lots and lots of rehearsals.-Larry Hagman.
