Independence Day celebration

The Independence Day was celebrated o the 14th of August for the junior school. The moment had arrived when the children had to showcase their traditional attire that day. The tiny tots looked stunning with the ethnic wear.  We had our celebrations in the MPH along with the parents of Nursery, PP, Grade 1 and 2.
The day began with the parents stating few lines written by Swami Vivekananda followed by a song entitled “Sare Jahan Se Acha”. Then came the moment where the students along with their parents walked the ramp to exhibit their state and culture. They all looked amazing. We could see the concept of unity in diversity all there on the stage. The programme continued by a grandparent of grade 2 sharing his experiences on how India was then and how much has it developed now. He even shared how they used to have the Independence Day celebrations. For the finale all of us proudly sang our National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” and saluted our country and our freedom fighters.
Later during the day the students of grade 2 had celebrations in their respective classes by bring a tri coloured snack and by have mini pot luck in the classes. The students of grade 6 took time and presented a meaningful ppt on the root of Indian bondage and freedom. The most awaited time had come where the students received their goody bags on account of Independence Day.  The students had a wonderful time. All we can say is “It was a day well spent”
