As part of the special inaugural assembly for the Library Week Celebrations2010 at OIS  I introduced  the book titled ‘CHICKEN’ by the celebrated British Author Alan Gibbons.
This book could help children relate to familiar situations that which are very much part of their reality like relocating from one place to another; struggling to find friends and being accepted; trying to stand up against things that we know and believe is not right and so on.
‘CHICKEN’ the book, tells the story of an 11-year old boy’s struggles, after his family relocated to the city. Davy Watts a young boy establishes himself in the midst of numerous situations, to stand his own ground against a gang of bullies, in his new surroundings.

I am most certain that after you read this book  you will feel motivated and empowered to face challenges that you come across in life as a youngster, and not just end up being ‘CHICKEN”
Happy Reading!
