Hand Washing Session

Ms.Shubhangi Sambare
Team Leader – Grade IV

Isn’t it amazing to find out how simple, routine yet important things are often over looked? Who ever imagined that a hand washing process really consists of 6 sequential steps and that each step is as important as the predecessor to ensure effectiveness!

The recent Hand Washing Session conducted by an NGO in association with Dettol brought out the nuances of improper hand washing and taught our little pearls the correct way of doing so. Come to think of it, the kids really loved it and the engagement and participation exhibited by one and all was commendable.

There is always a unique learning in all activities and one of the key learning we had, apart from the hand washing process, was that even a simple process like “the right and effective way to wash hands” can be made engaging and entertaining for children if “mind” is applied to the task at hand. Rightly said it is not always the message which is important but the manner in which the message is delivered that leaves a mark.
