Imaginative plays tend to be entertaining for the children apart from that they also form a base in building up a child's intellectual and social development. As we all know that children need adult's help in making sense of their discoveries and role-play is an excellent teaching aid through which the students can inculcate social skills in the form of knowledge through their teachers. Childhood is closely related to play and play itself nourishes a child's own creativity. Keeping this in mind the teachers of pre-primary performed a role-play on 'A lonely frog'.
The play was followed by a moral message enhancing the students to learn something that is not catered in other subjects. The play focused on the importance of friendship and made an attempt among the children to induce the feeling of oneness. It clearly communicated the qualities of collaboration, friendship and teamwork in the act. The children enjoyed the role-play thoroughly by understanding the essence of culture. Role playing is a mainstay of education that needs to be incorporated into our lesson plans on a regular basis.
