The students of Grade 5 had a great and rare opportunity to witness the Swearing in ceremony of the newly elected 13th President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. The students gathered in the Multi- purpose Hall at 11am. They were awestruck to see the grandness of the occasion. After the “Hazaar Salami”, our President took his oath at the Central Hall of Parliament, Delhi at around 11:30 am. He was administered the oath of office in the Central Hall of Parliament by the Chief Justice of India Shri S.H. Kapadia. Shri Pranab Mukherjee was given a 21-gun salute after taking the oath as the President. We also heard his first Speech as the President of India. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem.
