Spain came to Oakridge

At Oakridge we firmly aim at developing international mindedness in our learners and encouraging multilingualism is just one way it. It is believed that people who speak multiple languages have a stereoscopic vision of the world from two or more perspectives, enabling them to be more flexible in their thinking, learn reading more easily. Multi - linguals, therefore, are not restricted to a single world-view, but also have a better understanding that other outlooks are possible.
Indeed, this has always been seen as one of the main educational beliefs at Oakridge and moving on the same lines we had a special assembly in Spanish. Learners tried to dress up as traditional Spanish people. They presented –“Los Reyes Magos”- Three kings festival which is a kind of Christmas celebrated in Spain on January 5, where sweets are distributed on streets. The “Flamenco dance” presented by girls amazed us all and the choir song “Mariposita” – about butterfly made us all tap our feet.

And we received wonderful reflections –

I was excited for the Spanish assembly and as the day came I was delighted. I loved the song and the play: - Sadana (grade 2B)

It was my Spanish assembly. I was dressed like a Flamenco dancer. We did it nicely, beautifully confidently: Shraddha (grade 2F)
