| We took part in a role-playing exercise with the grade 2 children for their transportation UOI. Parent volunteers played the role of ticketing agents
for various modes of transportation. It was really fascinating to see how the children made decisions on the fly, like unavailability of tickets, date
& time of travel, sharing window seats with friends, taking an expensive comfortable trip for longer journeys vs. saving money on a local bus for
shorter distances, using a taxi service etc.
This was a very innovative activity that provided children an opportunity to learn planning and decision making skills. We are sure the kids have learnt that there is a lot more to travel than just packing and going along with their parents. We are also sure they will be active participants in planning their family’s next vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed interacting with various groups of children and being included in their learning process.
