DIWALI CELEBRATION IN GRADE 6

Students came dressed in traditional attire, brought diyas, flowers and sweets to celebrate Diwali in school. Rangoli decoration was done beautifully inside the classroom and students enjoyed a festive moment by sharing sweets and warm regards to one another. Let happiness spread maniifold on this day!
Here is what Maanav Khaitan has to write about Diwali:
Diwali-A-Dream
Diwali…the festival of lights!! The return of Lord Rama from Lanka, after defeating Raavan. We all wait the whole year for Diwali, when we can celebrate the return of our mythological heroes. It is as exciting as going to Disney land, and is celebrated throughout India.
Diwali is a dream …something that brings smiles on all the happy faces of people. In India, we celebrate Diwali by decorating our houses with colourful diyas and noisy firecrackers.
While at home, your ears will break with deafening silence. The moment you move out, you can hear noises like: BOOM! BADAKA! And TAM! When we make rockets fly in the sky, all the clouds run away in order to save themselves. The sight of the rockets bursting is something you cannot miss. ‘Ten million’ people bursting crackers all over India causes a lot of noise pollution. The smoke that is released by the crackers also spoils the air.
Even though Diwali is an exciting and fun festival, I think that it contributes to pollution in a humongous way. Instead of bursting about 20 crackers, you could reduce it to about 10.Bursting crackers about five days before Diwali is also not a very eco-friendly idea.
We should try to save the exciting and eco-friendly environment. If we would not burst so many crackers now, we could maybe save the environment and burst crackers after 20 years. Diwali is a festival that has everything…………We just need to be a little eco-friendly!

BURSTING IS BURNING!!!
