An Oakridge Initiative
...to mobilize people to vote
On Monday, 18 November, this program was introduced in the morning assembly by our Principal Captain Rohit
Sen Bajaj. He said “It's time for the students to take the “first” step towards the changes
that they always wanted for their country” and encouraged the students to participate.
He further elaborated that it is not the time for the students to vote but
they are a powerful force who can influence people to vote and choose the right leader.
This initiative will involve each and every student wherein each
student inspires 10 citizens of India to vote. The student will have to get A PLEDGE signed by 5 citizens who
already have voter ID to vote and A PLEDGE
from 5 citizens who do not have voter IDs to get their voter IDs and vote.
Oakridge has initiated this
public awareness drive in collaboration with an organization Let’s Vote to instil in the citizens of India the value and
importance of voting.
It will be done as an activity by the students in
their family and neighbourhood to encourage the people to vote. For this activity the students will be rewarded with:

On Thursday, 28 November, the students took the
following pledge led by our Vice Principal Mr. Biju in the morning assembly:
We the students of Oakridge
International School will inspire at least 5 citizens to vote and encourage at
least 5 citizens of India to make their voter IDs & vote to help secure a
better future for India.
