On 9th November 2013, we the X graders participated in the
Spoorthi program. 22 kids came bubbling
with joy and enthusiasm. I chose to teach the 9 and 10 graders batch of 7
students. It was challenging of course; they were in the same grade as I was
and roughly the same age.
I taught them sentence formation in English and
reproduction in Biology and a bit of Math. The experience was fun and was a
learning experience for me as well! The smiles on their faces made me happy and
I felt good at heart on the way home and hoped to do it again.

I participated in the Spoorthi Program on 9th November 2013.
I was pleased to see the kids who showed so much enthusiasm towards academics.
I wanted to teach the kids English. I was assigned to teach Grades 8
and 9 students. In the beginning, I asked them to tell me about their experiences
at their schools and later I helped them write an essay on their own. Then I
took up Grade 2. I started off with a small spelling test and then gauged the
English level of each student. Then I told them a horror story and asked them
to give their own ending.
Each one was very creative and came up with lovely
ideas. My overall experience of interacting with and teaching the kids was
amazing. I hope to come here often for Spoorthi Program.
