Students of Grade 8 used nets containing 2D drawings to explore 3D shapes. They
were divided into groups and given an A4 size coloured sheet to draw a net for
the solid shape allotted to them. They created the net and from the 2D drawings
constructed the 3D shape.
Various nets were drawn to create common 3D shapes
such as cube, cuboid, cylinder, cone, tetrahedron, and pyramids. It was a fun
exploration and students admired their own creations at the end.
