Women’s Day Celebration — A CAS Initiative

In ‘As You Like It,’ just as Duke Senior finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything, we at Oakridge find CAS in everything. Hence, this Women’s Day was no exception. As a CAS Activity, we decided to dedicate this day to the Sub-Staff which includes the janitors, security guards, housekeeping, and the gardeners.

On March 6, 2014, the school gathered in the MPH for an assembly and around 80 of our women Sub-Staff were invited. After the initial prayer and song, Ms. Mohseena spoke in Telugu addressing the special guests and appreciating their efforts and help. Then, our VP Mr. Biju Baby spoke of the importance of women in one’s life. Next, he handed the proceedings to the VP Ms. Hema Chennupaty who handed over gift hampers to the beaming ladies.

A huge applause from the students was a sign of acknowledgement from them that these humble yet important women play a vital role in a successful school life. A small gesture by the school won huge smiles and gratitude from the women who were at the receiving end.
