Independence Day, the day when India got freedom
from colonial rule, is celebrated with great zeal & pleasure in OIS. In
honour of Independence week, students of Grade III were caught up in the spirit of patriotism and celebrated the
week with great fervour.
They have come dressed up as various freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Jawaharlal Nehru, Rani Lakshmi Bai, etc. and shared their knowledge about them with their classes. As a tribute to the National flag, our young Indians have also brought tri-coloured delicacies. The students were very enthusiastic to watch videos from the time of Independence and were educated about our the nation and its freedom fighters through quiz by senior students. The students reflected on their learning with great respect and gratitude towards the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to free the country from the shackles of the British rule.
