Provocation on transportation

It was a great start for this unit as the students were able to relate and connect to the real life scenarios quite well.
The moment the teacher started the provocation through some circumstances, the word transportation came up in their mind. The teacher put questions and connected to the previous unit based on origin and asked few students to speak about the shifting process from abroad to their home town. Certain things like booking of the ticket, travelling through different modes of transport came up in the classes. Then few kids questioned about the substantial equipment to be packed and taken along while travelling. But to our surprise they had the answer to it. They said it’s called as a container. Students even spoke of the uses of different modes of transport and why is there a need of transport in today’s world where we received surprising responses.
So certain aspects came through this interactive session and the unit would be taken further with the thoughts the students put forth. Hoping that this unit would bring an impact in their lives we would be awaiting for a celebration for a student action.
