These words conjure up images of a studio and the
world of films but the Oakridgers at the Newton campus got a feel of what
direction is about in a presentation by the Mr. Kurt Inderbitzen CEO at the
Annapurna International School of Film and Media. The presentation was a part
of the school’s initiative to a Photography and Film club which was introduced
last year.
The Photography and Film club will provide an
opportunity for students to learn the nuances of film making and also learn to
communicate through visual media in the form of documentaries, posters and much
more. Mr. Kurt Inderbitzen spoke to the students on how it is important to say
something about the subject they are shooting. He got the students to enact a
scene to show how teamwork is important in setting up a scene, fixing the
camera, playing the right music that sets the emotional tone of the piece to be
shot etc.
The classes for the club will be commencing in July
and will run through the year. The students will get to showcase their short
films and their photographs at the Preview theatre in Annapurna Studios.
