Talk about gaming and I don’t think you can come
across any child who has not shown an interest in playing Counter Strike and
similar games.
The students at Oakridge were a witness to a
presentation this morning on Interactive Media by Mr. Rahul Sehgal, Director,
Roach Interactive, a game studio in Hyderabad. The club will be introduced for
students in school with the objective of training them in skills and processes
relating to 3D Art, Web Designing and App Making.
For the senior school students that is Grades 11 and
12 the deliverables will be a certificate of the Diploma from Backstage Pass,
School of Gaming. The students also get to develop their portfolio website which will showcase their
individual work, their own blog, video clips. The club gives them an
opportunity to take up an internship with the gaming studio for a minimum of 4
weeks to a maximum of 12 weeks.
Activities like these provide a platform for children
to develop teamwork and problem solving skills. Their thought process is
kindled to create and innovate applications that may impact the world at large.
