Algebra is often looked upon as
complicated and scary. I conducted an activity for my 8th graders to deepen the
understanding of Factorisation of Algebraic Expressions. The purpose of the
game was to solve and factorize the expressions, and match the answers to the
right question. The activity was differentiated according to the knowledge
level of students and the class was divided the group into three groups namely
HOTS, Medium and Easy. This gave an opportunity for everyone to participate and
feel accomplished. There were flash cards made by question and answer. The
student solved the question and matched the answer to the other flash card
until they completely matched all of them. It was a lot of fun while learning.
