The
11th graders took charge of the Spoorthi initiative in the school
for the first time on September 14th 2013. With around 15 Oakridgers
ready to teach the spoorthi kids, the day was kick-started on the right foot
with motivation and excitement. The Spoorthi children were divided into 4
classes according to the classes they were studying in school. With a structured
syllabus and schedule, the Oakridgers went about teaching the students in an
interactive learning session. As we went around taking photographs of all the
classes, it was amazing to see how intelligent and enthusiastic the kids were.
Every single class was alive with people talking, interacting and having a good
time. At 12 o clock it was time for the academics to end and the kids were
taken to eat lunch in the dining hall. After eating the hearty meal, the kids
were allowed to play games in the games field and the PP play area. I think it
was the part of the day they enjoyed the most! We played with them and it was
nice to relax after a long day and get to know the children. They are extremely
smart and kind and funny and we wish them the very best and we are certainly
looking forward to every spoorthi session yet to come - Nitya Marri & Reema
