English workshop was held to promote
excellence in English. The workshop was an excellent platform for English
teachers to discuss various strategies used in teaching. The first topic of the
day was discussing the importance of standardizing marking procedure. Also
different approaches to correcting written work involving students should be part of the learning process and treated positively.
Next the discussion focused on English as first language – Purpose,
Audience and Form. This was followed by Writer’s effect. The use of different
ion in lesson planning to cater to different learning needs was
discussed.
