Language Assessment

A workshop on ASSET assessment was conducted for the teachers of Grade III-VI teachers on 6^th November at Conference Hall, LGF. This assessment is conducted twice a year all over the country for students of Grade IV to X in various skills.

Skill wise Analysis (Cumulative for all classes) helps the teacher to identify the weak areas of the class as well as the most difficult area in the whole school and thereby the teacher can deliver the required need and help the students. Similarly the performance of the class could be identified into- Total no. of students above 60, below 60, below average etc.

After analyzing the assessment papers of the students from Grade III to VI certain steps were suggested as such:

·        Discuss the identified questions in the class and explain why they made mistakes

·        Make a note after the class with the reasons explained by class

·        Read the relevant teacher sheets

·        Brainstorm to identify action items

·        Include in the teacher schedule

·        Plan for the bottom quartile- remedial each fortnight.
