Life Skills Programme

Life L

Life Skills Education according to UNICEF implies a behaviour change from risk behaviour through enhancement of knowledge, attitudinal and skill-based competencies. Acquisition of Knowledge, Attitudes, and Value Enhanced Life Skills (KAVELS) helps to improve decision making, problem-solving ability, critical and creative thinking, empathy, stress management and healthy relationships.

Oakridge International School introduced the life skills programme for its students with the understanding that such skills empower the students to handle the challenges of life with the desirable attitude and approach.

These sessions by the Student Advisor, Ms. Rachna Dhingra, commenced from 4th November 2013. The focus of the sessions would be on importance of life skills for students, self- awareness, critical thinking, creative thinking, effective communication, empathy, problem- solving, decision-making, interpersonal relationship, coping with emotions and coping with stress.
