My Favorite Author – Rick Riordan

My favorite author is Rick Riordan Jr.  He writes books based on Greek, Roman and Egyptian mythology.  People often call him by his nickname “The Myth Master”.   He is best known for writing the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.  The first two books in this series were made into Hollywood movies.  This was followed by the Kane Chronicles, focusing on the Egyptian mythology and The Heroes of Olympus based on the Roman and Greek mythology.  He also developed the first 10 books of the 39 Clues series and The Maze of Bones is the first book of the series.

Rick Riordan is planning to write a series based on Norse mythology. Rick Riordan was born on June 5th, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas.  He graduated from the University of Texas and then taught English and Social studies for eight years at the Presidio High School in San Francisco.  The reason I like Rick Riordan’s books is because they are very adventurous and thrilling and I want to write a book like him. Rick Riordan lives in Boston, Massachusetts, with his wife and two sons Patrick and Haley who inspired his Percy Jackson series.
