The Counseling and Supportive Instruction Unit conducted a parent awareness
program on 8th November 2013. The parents of the children with
learning problems were educated in identifying the children with the given
indicators of learning difficulties.
The ten steps of working process of
Supportive Instruction Unit were explained to the parents. They were oriented
to the CBSE board concessions (external examinations) and also OIS, Newton
Campus CSI Unit Policy of Examination concessions (internal examinations),
which are followed during the Summative Assessments.
The session by Ms. Kiranmayee, Remedial Instructor, helped the parents
in identifying difficulties of their children and in understanding the process
of application to the CBSE Board for the concessions. The parents appreciated
the effort of the Unit in providing extra time, reading questions and creating confidence
in their children by the supportive instructors during the examinations. The
parents were provided with handouts on the difficulties of children and the
remedial instructions to overcome those difficulties.
