Oakridge's ‘Walkathon’ — A Phenomenal Success

‘Vote for my Future’ is an initiative that Oakridge International School took up in collaboration with Let’s Vote organization to create awareness about the significance of voting. Over the span of the past few months, the students of Oakridge International School, Newton Campus conducted campaigns that were directed at the members of the local community.

As a part of CAS activity, we took this successful initiative to the next level which was the ‘Walkathon’ scheduled on Saturday, 1st February from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM from the KBR Park main gate to the Jubilee Hills Check Post and back. The walk aimed to raise awareness in the surrounding area by informing the public about the importance of voting.

The student, staff and parent turnout was beyond our expectations. The Director General of Police Mr. Gautam Sawang graced the occasion and the Cyberabad Police Commissioner Mr. C. V. Anand flagged off the Walkathon. The youth icon Raj Arjun Reddy who is our Alumnus also joined us for the walk. On behalf of the Principal, Capt. Rohit Sen Bajaj, both the Vice Principals Mr. Biju Baby of International Curriculum and Ms. Hema Chennupaty of CBSE curriculum addressed the gathering.
