Workshop on Classroom Management and Behaviour Management

A workshop on Classroom Management and Behaviour Management was conducted by Ms. Siby on 5^thJuly, 2014 for the CIE teachers. The workshop was aimed at effective classroom management in a class of varied ability of students. The workshop emphasised the need for coming prepared for class and making sure that every student is addressed. The average attentions span of a student age + 3 minutes, hence the need to keep the class attentive and focussed.  The aim was to keep the class engaged with a mix of activity, classroom teaching, videos and worksheets. The workshop was a mix of lecture and activity which made it interesting and memorable. A take-away from the workshop was for classroom strategies and rules to be stressed to the students and being a role model for the students. It was a great way to learn and will be extremely useful for classroom teaching. The PD struck a great balance between lecture and interaction.
