Parent Reflection on Global Children Challenge

"The GCC is a wonderful initiative towards fitness with knowledge . It's a beautiful combination of making kids exercise physically by increasing their step count and at the same time exercising them mentally as they tour the world with their steps, reading and learning about the different countries and their details.

When Maanav came home and told me about it, the first words that came out from my mouth was, “Wow! Can we elders take part too? Do we also get a pedometer?" How I wished I was an Oakridger too (though this is not the first time that I have wished so)
Maanav plays with his Apartment friends every evening from 5:30pm -7:30pm. After putting on his pedometer, he has started taking his bowling and fielding more seriously as it makes him increase his steps compared to batting.

Previously he would laze on the bed whenever watching TV. Now he lies on his back, cycling with his legs in the air and enjoys his programs. If ever he checks his pedometer and his count is less, he immediately begins to dance to increase it thus making up for his physical activity for the day.

The GCC challenge has also created lot of curiosity in Maanav about the place they are going to visit next. His excitement in going to school has increased due to this knowledgeable world tour with their steps. He looks forward to discovering a new destination every day.

In short, Maanav has become physically more active and loves it this way and so are we.
Cheers to GCC ... Cheers to Oakridge for introducing this challenge to their kids".
