The Film
Club was initiated in school with the idea of providing a unique opportunity
for students to learn the art of film making from professionals in the field.
The general opinion among parents I remember was how does it help my child and
I had a tough time convincing them on encouraging their children to take it on.
Having
worked with the students and from my observations in the classes I personally
feel that there is so much learning involved in film making process whether it
is team work, communication, direction, working in supportive capacities it’s a
wonderful feeling to bring an idea, a script to visual life. Film making also teaches
the students to develop a perspective, it’s a process of self development.
Equally
important is another objective: to engage students in real-world work
experiences, provide them with ways to give back to their communities. Not all
students may become professional filmmakers, but they'll be able to look back
and say that was the time I knew could weave a story too.
The
Graduation ceremony was held at the Preview Theatre, Annapurna Studios and
Mr.Mohammad Ali Baig was the Chief Guest. Mr.Baig spoke on how drama and
direction can help a student in getting significant insights into real life
experiences.
Capt.Bajaj
the Principal congratulated the students and appreciated their initiative in
coming up with short films with a social message. Sankalp
one of the students who were a part of the film club spoke on how this short
course has changed his perception of film making. ‘I am able to appreciate a
film better now since I have experienced the team work that goes into the
making of a film’, said Sankalp.
We
hope to make this club a bigger success by reaching out to a greater number of
students in the coming year.
