"If a man aspires towards a righteous life,
his first act of abstinence is from injury to animals." - Albert Einstein.
Launching a new campaign ‘Help Wildlife’, Ms. Amala
Akkineni, an environmentalist and the founder of Blue Cross, addressed the
students during the morning assembly in the Oakridge Newton campus today. Ms. Amala
spoke at length on learning and respecting the value of each and every creature
in the biosphere. She spoke about the Wildlife Protection Act and people’s
ignorance towards such laws and their indulgence in something that is illegal
and morally wrong. Ms. Akkineni called upon the students to support them in
running the campaign. Miniature monkeys, parakeets, snakes to name a few are
being sold in pet shops and she said we cannot let this happen. They deserve
freedom as much as we do and need our support and help to speak for them.
Let us pledge our support to this noble cause
and do our bit to make a Difference.
