Grade 2: Guest Lecture on Music in Kannada

In connection with their inquiry on music in different cultures, students of Grade 2 had a Guest Lecture by Ms. Veena, where they inquired and gained a lot of information about music in Kannada. Children learnt about Karnataka, languages spoken, music forms, legendary musicians, and many more.

As it was an interactive session, children enjoyed asking and answering questions. They actively participated in learning a Kannada song “Nimbiya Banada Myagala.” Students showed that they are courageous in trying and learning a song in a new language. The song selected by the lecturer was so catchy and melodious that children learnt very quickly.

Guest Lecturer’s (Ms. Veena) Reflection
It was a nice interaction with the children talking about my place and the music culture of Karnataka. I was so happy to see the children singing Kannada song so melodiously. Thanks for giving the opportunity to share information about my culture.
