In relation to PYP Exhibition Issue ‘Natural Disasters,’ students of
Grade VI had a Guest Lecture by Dr. A. Jaya Laxmi, Professor of EEE, JNTUH
College of Engineering, Hyderabad. It was an informative session in which
students discussed their understanding of the concept as well as got an
opportunity to clarify their doubts.
The speaker answered all their queries on what should be done when
earthquake, landslide, flood, cyclone, etc., strike us, how to take safety
measures, and protect ourselves and others. Students were able to draw the
connection of one disaster with the others and learn how a disaster affects our
life. They were able to understand why we should focus on Disaster Management.
