PP2’s Field Trip to a Biscuit and Chocolate Factory

Biscuits and Chocolates would rank amongst the favourite food items for children. Therefore, a Field Trip to a Biscuit and Chocolate Factory on 25 March, 2014 brought out all the excitement in the children of PP2. Children, accompanied by teachers, were given a warm welcome by the staff at the Factory. The visitors were asked to wear caps to cover their hair as part of hygiene requirements before entering the manufacturing area.

Inside the Factory, children were taken on a tour to various processing units like mixing, rolling, baking, cooling, sorting, packing, etc. They were also made aware of the importance of maintaining hygiene in the Factory.  It was a great day for children with lots of opportunities to explore, learn, and inquire about the processes of making cookies and chocolates and to get a chance to savour them as well.

This Field Trip helped children to connect with the Unit of Inquiry in which they explore all the aspects of food. We would like to thank Mrs. Mala, Mother of Rashish (PP2C), and Mr. Pramod for their immense support and cooperation.
