Grade VI — Fascinating Field Trip to AP Fire Services Department

The students of Grade VI working for the PYP Exhibition Issue, ‘Natural Disasters,’ paid a visit to AP Fire Services Department, Civil Defence Training Institute, Hyderabad on 13th March. We were welcomed by some officers of the Department who gave classes on types of fire, triangle of fire: Heat-Oxygen-Combustible material, how to fight fire, etc. 

We were made to feel like fire fighters by making us wear jackets. We learnt about the functions of various equipment used in firefighting, rescue and evacuation. Water tank demonstration was one of the best learning experiences for the students. We thank the officers of the Department for their warm hospitality and the new learning we gathered from them.
