The Counseling and Supportive
Instruction Unit conducted an awareness session on bullying for ayahs and
security staff at Oakridge on 1st March, 2014. It was considered important to
educate ayahs and security staff about bullying and what to do during incidents
of bullying as they are the ones who are present in the absence of teachers and
who look after the children when the teachers cannot. They were told what
bullying is, how to identify the difference between bullying and teasing, and
what to do when they witness incidents of bullying. Written material on
bullying was translated into Telugu and Hindi and distributed to them.
