Student’s Reflection: Rendezvous with the Chief Forest Conservator

The students of Grade VI were excited to interact with the Chief Forest Conservator Dr. Rama Krishna Rao. Sir was honoured with Vriksha Mitra National Award in 1996. He sensitized the students on the Topic “Disturbing the Ecosystem” by making them aware of a number of real-life issues where irreversible damage was done to beautiful Ecosystems from Vijayanagar in AP to Cherrapunji in Meghalaya. They also came to know that it takes millions of years to form 1 inch of soil and it takes seconds to erode.

He made the students aware of a number of programmes being undertaken by different organisations. Towards the end, he expressed his delight to see the interest of the students in the Topic and also wished to see each child as a Green Ambassador leading to conserve the Ecosystems.
