The Spell Bee Contest was held in OIS Newton
Campus. It was sponsored by Times of India: Education. I had participated in
it. There were 2 batches. The first batch was the junior batch [years 7 to 10].
The second batch was the senior batch [years 11 to 14].
I was in the junior batch. They had given us a
list of words which would appear in the contest. I was really excited to
participate as I love spell bee competitions. They were at least 1500 kids from
many schools in Hyderabad. The first round was really easy. After the first
round, the top 100 students out of the 1500 were selected for the second round.
I came 5th in the top 100 in the
first round, it was a proud moment. In the second round, they were to select
the top 25 who would then go into the last round. In the last round they were asked
to spell the words orally. Every student was asked 10 words to spell in the
last round. When the results were called
out, I realized that I stood in the top 5.
It was a proud moment and a great accomplishment
for all the hard work I had put into the spell bee competition and the preparation
for the competition – Ronak. D 5J
