Focusing on one of the
concept-change, Grade V students were initially were divided into small groups
and informed to play games like cricket, soccer and tennis with the actual
rules of these games. Later students had an opportunity to discuss and modify
the rules of these games (at least 2-3 modifications per game) and play. The
students then had a reflection time. They reflected on the pros and cons of
these games before and after the rules of these games were changed. Some of
them felt the games were easier to play with changed rules while the others
felt it otherwise.
