iPad immersion in the PP2 Classes

The ‘APPPLE program’ launched this academic year exteriorized with the launch of ‘apple iPod for pre primary children of newton campus this Monday. It has indeed marked a new beginning and opened different avenues for our young Oakridgers and teachers. School leaders say it’s not just a cool toy, but rather a powerful, versatile tool that is virtually changing the face of education.  IPads offer us , educators, more diverse methods for delivering instruction and engaging students for learning in the 21st century. With an interface that children can interact with directly, apps that more readily engage the child, portability, ease of use, and interactive screen, iPads make an effective choice of and for learning for our children in pre primary.
Learning will serve as a paradigm shift from the conventional methods, ways of thinking and teaching to new areas of working with children. It strives to provide a cutting edge learning experience incorporating a high level of technology integration in the curriculum.
At Oakridge international school, Newton campus we don’t ransack to introduce this. A comprehensive plan had already been devised on various ways and apps to be equipped with before beginning this program with children.
This exciting as well as challenging journey of learning begins with the Professional development of teachers that was provided at the start of the program and on an ongoing basis, which was followed by iLearner classroom essential agreements where children were given guidelines to be prepared for the new ways of learning engagements that will follow. ‘The day’ began with a lot of enthusiasm from the children and teachers as the environment was aligned according to the ambience of ilearning.
Different sections had planned various innovative ways of launching ipads to children along with a custom made sticker for iLearners especially given to each student.
With iPad successfully launched in our spectrum learning possibilities are at our fingertips.
