- Vādi
Vādi swaram in arāgam
is the main/ primary swaram of importance in it. A vādi swaram is repeated
quite often in a rendition.
- Samvādi
Samvādiswaram in
arāgam has a concordant effect with the vādiswaram. It has a good effect to the
ear (melody or pleasing) along with the vādi. In western music it is equivalent
of the consonant.
Western Music Terms
- Largo
[lahr-goh] (Italian)
"Broad." Indicates a very slow tempo, usually slower than adagio.
- Legato
[leh-gah-toh]
(Italian) "Tied."An indication to play music in a connected, smooth
fashion.
- Libretto
[lih-breh-toh]
(Italian) "Little book."The text of an opera, oratorio, or other
large-scale vocal work.
