Role Play on Biodiversity

As a provocation into the unit biodiversity, the class of 5D went on a field trip to the Nehru zoological park where we could learn about the different habits and habitats of different animals. First we boarded the bus that would take us to the zoo. When we reached, we went into a small building which was newly introduced by the chief minister and watched an orientation film about the zoo.
Then we proceeded from the building. There we saw and listed down different animals while also watching their habits and habitats. We also saw the snake exhibit and the turtle tunnel. After that we all sat down and had some lunch. Then we went back, boarded the bus and came back to school.
We also did a role-play on a Panchatantra story. We acted out the whole story in different parts. It had the beginning, the situation, the climax and the ending. After that we all came up with a suitable moral of the story. These exercises have helped us in developing thinking skills and have increased our knowledge. We also learned the attitude commitment and the profile thinker. We used the key concept “Connection by Connecting” it to our unit biodiversity. We also used the key concept responsibility by showing what would happen to the ecosystem if the hunter had caught it.
