“He who would learn to fly one day must
first learn to stand and walk and run……..”
The investiture ceremony
of the Prefectural council was held on 19 July 2013. This ceremony was a
celebration to welcome the new Prefect Council to its new responsibilities of
leadership.
As an Oakridger our students will learn to fly
which is why we give them additional responsibility thereby helping them to
overcome their fears and emerge as great leaders. They represent maturity. They speak truth, they run their own
race, making the right decisions and worrying little about public opinion.
The ceremony began with the junior school choir
singing ‘Himalay ki Reit mien’ The portfolios of each of these students was a
surprise and as the names were announced the young enthusiastic eager to know
the portfolios walked up the dais to don the role of the leader and take up
great responsibilities for this academic session by our Principal, Capt Bajaj,
Headmistress Ms Hema Sanjay and PYP Coordinator Ms Anuradha Sawhney.
Principal, Capt Bajaj administered the oath
and addressed the gathering, after which the Senior school Head boy, Head girl and
the prefect council congratulated the prefects of Jr school.
The ceremony ended with the School song and
National Anthem, The parents of the prefects council shared the joyous moments
with the future leaders of Oakridge. It was a ceremony which every one cherished
and had a wonderful time.
We wish the senate success and victory in
all their endeavors!!!!
