MORAL EDUCATION IN THE CIE CLASSROOM ASSEMBLY!!!

On the 25th of September, students of class 10 G had a classroom assembly in which a series of events took place within the group of 23 children.

It started off with a few boys (lead by Arun Kumar) singing a wonderful song for the class, which we in turn hummed along to (as we didn’t know the lyricsJ).  This was followed by an inspiring thought and a prayer recited by Dharma and Karthik. All of us, as a habit, bowed our heads and synced our thoughts with the words recited by Karthik.
After all the formalities of an assembly were done Nishta and Supriya began with their speech about Ms. Nina Davuluri, Miss America. They focused on two major aspects regarding this topic: racism in America towards Nina and the racism she would have faced in India. Supriya regarded the first part of the topic and spoke about the various mean and racist comments posted on multiple social networking sites mostly by Americans (though, this doesn't mean all Americans are racist towards her). Nishta, on the other hand, spoke about how she would have been treated here, in India, due to her skin colour. Many people believe that she probably wouldn’t even make into a beauty pageant in India due to her skin colour and the skin colour bias in this country.

The overall moral of this speech is that skin colour shouldn't matter, it’s all about the self-confidence and determination that should help anyone to reach the pinnacle of success.

After this inspiring speech few of the students were acclaimed for the improvement showed in various subjects in the Cyclic test-II in comparison with the performance in the Cyclic test-I.
While in the mood for appreciation, 7 students (Nitya, Rhea, Karthik, Dharma, Rajitha, Ruhitha and Nishta) have achieved 100% attendance in the month of August and were praised for this in order to motivate them and others to achieve 100% attendance too.
Nishta and Supriya were also appreciated and commended for the numerous articles they have written and handed in to be blogged, as well as for their incredible efforts in fixing the soft board and embellishing it.

And last but not least, Nitya Mangina, the Captain of the class, was acknowledged for doing a tremendous job in leading this wonderful class.
The magnificent idea of having a class assembly was introduced by Biju sir and proved to be very successful in motivating us and inducing us with positive energy.
