Oakridge
International School, Newton campus organized a rhymes storytelling and play workshop
for their teachers on Tuesday 8th October
2013. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Raja Rajeshwari who is the member of
CFBT foundation services.
The
workshop started with introducing rhymes and continued with storytelling and
ended up with importance of play in curriculum. Story telling started with 6
basic steps and techniques that differentiate storytelling from “reading,” and
discusses the benefit of oral telling. This workshop helped teachers how to use
words and sentences while narrating story. The workshop also emphasized on voice
modulation and body language during rhymes and stories to make it more
effective for the child. The workshop was interactive and gave an opportunity to create a storytelling session
in classrooms.. The teachers were actively encouraged to participate throughout
the workshop and had fun while learning.
