Founder’s Day – Grade V

CAS
Newton campus was adorned with lights and illuminations as part of 12th Founders day celebrations on 6th Dec ‘12. It was an Exhibition cum cultural extravaganza. As part of the exhibition Grade v put up food stalls they sold homemade chocolates, fruit salads, sandwiches, pav bhaji and so on. The parents enjoyed seeing and buying the food from the stalls. Some of the parents appreciated the students for their noble gesture. This was a part of CAS which the school proudly encourages. The amount collected, 12,500 would be donated to Sannihitha organization, an orphanage in Safilguda. It was a joyous experience and the children felt they have contributed in their own small way to bring smiles to the orphans.

Math Exhibition

In Numerical Mathematics manipulative play an important role. We have completed a portion of this topic in the Founders day practice and we thought we should understand more about what we have learned. So we thought we should expose ourselves to real life applications. To do this we were grouped into Analysis, visualizing, Nets and shapes, Logical thinking, Number sense and shapes, Investigation and number sense and Reasoning. We asked the parents to solve the puzzles few of them solved within in seconds whereas others took time. Nevertheless, it made learning fun and interesting to parents at the same time for us. In this way we got the proper understanding of the concepts to develop our logical thinking skills.

GCC Exhibition

Global children’s Challenge was a grand success in our school. To spread more awareness about health and fitness some students of Grade 5 had an exhibition on Founder’s day.  The highlight of the exhibition was “Know your BMI’ and “Check your Pulse rate”.  Students also presented their findings about hypertension, obesity and diabetes which can harm us if we abstain from doing any form of exercise.
