Little Helping Hands

Pre- primary children visited two orphanages- Aman Vedika Rainbow Homes and Sannhitha on 18th December ’12 as part of their CAS initiative. A total sum of Rs.28, 000/- was collected during the PP Carnival and this amount was used to buy blankets, stationery, groceries, medicines, chocolates and miscellaneous items.
Our students interacted with the children there, sang songs and also distributed some essential items. The joy of giving was experienced by every child present there and we could see the twinkling stars in the eyes of the little ones. Undoubtedly this sharing has enriched the students personally and also gave immense satisfaction to parents for being a part of the CAS activity.
Heartfelt thanks to all the parents who volunteered for this trip along with the children. We are pleased to share few of the feed backs given by the parents:

"A wonderful initiative by the school and thanks for teaching kids how to share. I appreciate the effort. Keep it up"- Sree Vandrapu

"I am thoroughly touchedby the experience and so glad that our kids were exposed to such a generous effort."- Shashi Ramesh

"Great experience for me as well as the kids. Good that school is teaching kids to be socially responsible"- Shilpi

"I am very happy to be a part of this experience. It was a touching moment to see our children giving gifts of love"- Pooja Parmar

"It is a very thoughtful experience to the children and parents. Thank you for giving me this opportunity"- Jyothi

"It was an excellent experience to go to the orphanage and see the kids so happy there. I really appreciate the effort"- Ramya

"The visit to the orphanage was very touching experience. This is a great effort from the school to make the students aware of the living conditions of other kids. Thanks for involving me"- Sujatha Santanam

“My daughter thinks every human being is blessed with all the comforts, and all kids go to OAKRIDGE to study...As a mother I want to teach my child compassion, for the less fortune. I want to make her understand the plight of others who do not enjoy the luxuries we take granted. Today's trip is an unforgettable, amazing experience. It is incredible to see how eager and willing she is to share her experience.
She says "all of them are tiny tots very sweet, very polite like PP2 children but she felt very poor and sad seeing them" when I asked why "THEY LOOK SAD"...These small observations makes a difference in the lives of the Children. These kinds of trips and community work should be encouraged as it will help them to care for society. CLEVERNESS IS GOOD THINKING WITH PATIENCE IS BETTER...” - Dr. Gummadi Sridevi
