Celebration of ONRT

The habit of reading is the only unalloyed enjoyment in life, It lasts when all other pleasures fade. It is a companion in solitude. It entertains, educates and elevates.
We at Oakridge celebrate all kinds of program. ONRT (One Nation Reading Together) is also included in that. The One Nation Reading Together campaign was launched by Scholastic India the world`s largest publisher and distributor of children`s books. Thousands of schools from all over India were invited to celebrate the pleasures of the written word by spending a specified time reading for fun and engaging in book-related activities. The event started in the morning assembly with the children taking the special pledge written by a beloved children’s writer Ruskin Bond. The pledge is as follows:
We here celebrated the session from 11.10am to 11.40am on 30th Nov 2012. There were many activities organized in all the grade levels such as parental involvement in telling the stories in preprimary level, story reading and storytelling in 2nd and 3rd languages also in various grade levels, individual reading, group reading, teachers telling the stories to children etc..Overall it was a happy and purposeful reading.

We are happy to receive a certificate of participation from Scholastic India.
