Financial Literacy Program for the 9th Graders, CIE

The Financial Literacy Course was conducted for the 9th graders on 16th Sep 2014 at Oakridge International, Newton Campus.
Today, Ms. Siby conducted the Financial Literacy Course for all the 9thgraders. She started off by asking us to list few things that we would like to acquire. We listed out a number of items like mobiles, video games etc. Then we learnt to differentiate between needs and wants.
Then she went on teaching us other economic concepts like goods and services, the basic economic problem, Supply and demand, competition in business and Money.
All in all, it was an interactive and informative session. We are waiting for the next session.

The Financial Literacy Program is a program intended to enlighten students about the world of finance. It was a great experience, and somewhat of a recap of some of the topics I learnt in Economics Class. With economics changing everyday, learning about supply, demand, goods, services and other aspects of economics as well as business studies is important. This means everyone in the grade will get basic knowledge of the complex world of economics. I am waiting for the next class! -reflections by Ninad Kulkarni, IX G
